1p Mobile Coverage

1pMobile is a low cost MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that has the same coverage as EE – which is good news, as EE is a major UK network with impressive speeds and coverage.

But 1pMobile has a lot going for it beyond just strong mobile coverage, with one of its main benefits being revealed by its name. We’ll detail that more below, where you’ll also find information about 1pMobile’s other key selling points, its types of coverage, and more.

What types of mobile coverage does 1pMobile have?

1pMobile has the same types of mobile coverage as EE, which means it has 5G, 4G, and 2G coverage, but no 3G, as EE has switched its 3G service off.

The UK’s other networks are doing the same, and it’s for the best, as it allows them to focus on newer, better technologies like 5G and 4G.

What are the selling points of 1pMobile?

1pMobile is exceptionally good for Pay As You Go users, because – as the name suggests – it costs just 1p. Or more specifically it charges 1p per minute, 1p per megabyte, and 1p per text. That makes it one of the UK’s cheapest Pay As You Go networks.

But 1pMobile also sells SIM Only plans and while these aren’t quite as cheap, they’re still very good value. These come with varying minute, text, and data limits, right up to unlimited everything, and they’re 30-day rolling plans, giving you plenty of flexibility to change or cancel your plan whenever you want.

There’s also no credit check with 1pMobile’s plans, and EU roaming is included (up to a 14GB fair usage limit) – as is tethering, Wi-Fi Calling, and 4G Calling.

However, you can’t buy phones or other devices from 1pMobile.

How can I check 1pMobile’s network status?

Since 1pMobile shares EE’s network, you can go to EE’s coverage page to see if there are any known network problems in a given area. Just enter the postcode you want to check, and you’ll be able to see that along with the area’s 5G, 4G, and 2G coverage.

You might also want to head to 1pMobile’s Downdetector page to see if users are reporting any issues with the network.

What can I do to improve signal?

If one of the links above shows network problems then you probably can’t really improve the situation yourself, but until 1pMobile or EE fix the problem you can always use Wi-Fi Calling.

This lets you call and text over Wi-Fi in exactly the same way as you would over a mobile network, so the only limitation is that you need to be connected to Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi Calling should help whatever the cause of your signal problem – whether the network is down, there’s no coverage in your area, or anything else. But if you’re in a place that should have coverage and there aren’t any reported network problems, then there might be other things you can do too.

In that situation, there could be something blocking the signal. The most likely culprit is the walls of the building you’re in (if you’re inside), but signal could also be blocked by temporary structures, thick tree cover, and other obstacles. So if possible, try moving outside or away from any potential obstructions and see if that helps.

If there’s bad weather such as a storm, that could also impact the signal. Though that’s harder to resolve other than just waiting for the weather to clear.

However, another possibility is that your phone is having problems. So to try and fix that or rule it out, turn airplane mode on and then off again, and if that doesn’t help, turn your phone off and then on again.

That might clear up any signal problems, but if not then check for any software updates and install them if available, and if your battery is low then give it a charge.

If none of that helps, you can contact 1pMobile on 03333 442278 for further assistance.

What other networks use 1pMobile’s network?

1pMobile has the same coverage as EE, but it isn’t alone in that. The following networks (and EE itself of course) also have this coverage: Lyca Mobile, Spusu, Talk Home, Ecotalk, Boshhh, CMLink, IQ Mobile, Now Mobile, Popit Mobile, Utility Warehouse, Mozillion, Slice Mobile, and Your Co-Op.

Does 1pMobile have coverage abroad?

1pMobile has partnered with networks abroad to allow you to roam when you’re outside the UK. This means you’ll still have coverage abroad, and when roaming in 46 European destinations you can use your allowances at no extra cost (up to a 14GB fair usage limit).
